Smoke Alarm Services Agreement – Terms & Conditions
1. Annual Compliance
Smoke Alarm Services offers an Annual Compliance Subscription for $129 (inclusive of GST) per annum. This service includes a comprehensive inspection and functional testing of all smoke alarms installed at the property to ensure compliance with the 2022 legislative requirements. Upon successful inspection and compliance, a Compliance Certificate will be issued to the managing agent or property owner.
2. Compliance Coverage
The $129 Annual Subscription includes a 12-month warranty on workmanship. Should any issues arise as a result of our service during this period, Smoke Alarm Services will return to the property at no additional cost. This coverage extends to lease renewals, new lease agreements, and property sales. Exclusions: Damage caused by wilful misconduct, infestation (pestilence), or natural disasters are not covered under this warranty.
3. Service Conditions
Smoke Alarm Services operates Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, within the Greater Brisbane Metropolitan area and surrounding suburbs. Properties located outside these service areas or requiring attendance outside standard hours may incur an additional surcharge of $99.
4. 10-Year Smoke Alarm Warranty
A 10-year manufacturer’s warranty applies to all smoke alarms installed by Smoke Alarm Services, contingent upon the property maintaining an active Annual Compliance Subscription. If any smoke alarm is found to be damaged due to wilful conduct, pests, or weather-related incidents, the managing agent will be notified so the responsible party may be charged accordingly.
5. Replacement & Relocation of Smoke Alarms
Smoke Alarm Services is not responsible for the condition or functionality of pre-existing smoke alarms from the time of inspection to the time of their reinstallation. Any relocation of smoke alarms required to meet legislative compliance will incur additional charges to the property owner.
6. Work Orders, Communication & Access Requests
Smoke Alarm Services assumes no liability for work orders beyond initial contact attempts. Tenants will be contacted via electronic means including email, SMS, and phone. If contact cannot be established after reasonable attempts, the managing agent will be informed and is responsible for issuing the necessary entry notices in accordance with relevant legislation.
