- Keep the building’s smoke detection and alarm system maintained to Queensland Development Code part MP6.1. In houses and units the alarms themselves must be photoelectric and comply with AS 3786-2014.
- Maintain alarm testing records and evacuation procedures.
- Have inspections and testing done at the intervals MP6.1 sets, by a licensed fire protection contractor, and lodge a yearly occupier statement with the Queensland Fire Department.
- Display evacuation diagrams.
